Charge It Yacht Review Charge It – is a 70′ Princess or Viking Sport Cruisers as they are known in the US, she is large enough on the interior and exterior to accommodate large groups. With large outside grills and hidden tender and toy storage, this is a great option for those looking for something more than just a day cruiser.
Assa II Yacht Review Assa II – is an impressive and elegant looking 68′ express cruiser launched by Azimut yachts out of Italy. The Euro influence is clear throughout the yacht, and the layout and features make her an appealing option in this class.
Lady Trilli Yacht Review Lady Trilli – is a 65′ Pershing built with all the usual Italian style. A European ‘Niki Beach’ feel flows throughout this express cruiser capable of speeds up to 47 knots. A yacht fit for a movie star.

Charge It

Let’s start now by taking a look at these three boats. We have, Charge It, which is the first one today. We’re going from biggest to smallest. The first boat is a Princess, over here or if you’re in the States rather you will know that better as Viking Sport Cruisers. The same company, Princess licensed Viking Sport Cruiser over here to market and warranty and push that product.

It is exactly 70 foot long, almost 17 foot in the beam so it’s the beamiest of the three today. Last week’s reviews from Mykonos, we looked at the long range cruisers or the trawler style boats, around the same length but you’ll notice quite a big difference in the beams. The trawlers were a lot beamier than the express cruisers style. That’s obviously because they need a narrower beam on the express cruisers in order to get the speeds and the performance that they do get out of these.

The draft on the express cruisers is a lot less. This is 4’6’. All of them today are fiberglass hulls. The princess or the Viking Sport Cruiser that we have here, it doesn’t say the speed on this. These 70 will have the cruising speed of around 34 knots and will probably max out at around 38 knots. Great speed out of the 70’ boat. They’re powered by the Caterpillar engines, great reliable engines. We talked about those before. This is actually down here in South Florida. There are a couple of boats like this that are down in South Florida. There’s plenty of options there and we have done a few of our daily yacht trawls going around this style of boat.

This boat is called Charge It. It was launched in 2006. It says, there are four cabins, it’s not. It’s actually three cabins and the fourth is a crew cabin. All of them today have the same configuration. There are all three cabins with one crew cabin back-aft.

This one, as I mentioned is down in South Florida. When I get back there, we’ll continue to do those trawls. The asking price on this right now, it’s a pretty good asking price. It’s $1,699,000. That’s actually pretty competitive when you compare that to some of the smaller sizes that are available over here at the moment.

Assa II

We’ll move on to second boat. This is an Azimut called Assa II (2). Azimut sometimes get a bit of a bad rep from time to time for the engineering side of things. For me this 86S model has been around for years and years and years. It’s a very, very popular model. If the boat was as bad as unfortunately sometimes it’s been said, it wouldn’t still be around. I’ve been on this boat. I’ve been on a couple of the other 86’s and they have beautiful interiors. Very nice clean engine rooms, they ride pretty well as well. They have a nice modified deep [free 00:05:30] hull a lot like some of the Princess’ and the Sunseeker’s do.

As far as this model 86S, it is a great boat and a great option for doing exactly what it’s designed for. This is the 68S, not the 86S. 68’ in length, 17 ‘ in beam, you can see it’s quite beamy compared to the last Princess’ and the Princess was slightly longer as well. They do have good volume in here. Fiberglass modified the hull. The cruising speeds are fairly similar to the Princess or the Viking Sport Cruiser. 32 cruising and 38 maximum, again Assa 2 is down in South Florida. We can include this in our daily yacht trawls. If there’s any of you that would like to get on board. 2008 this was launched by Azimut.

Azimut are, as many of you probably already know is out of Italy. Very localized area around there where a lot of the Perini Navi’s are built, the Benetti’s are built. The Benetti is a big building community all within the same area. Three guest state rooms, one crew cabin back-aft, the same as the other two. This is powered by MAN engines.

MAN engines aren’t as common as the MTU’s or the Caterpillars. I have heard some people say that in certain parts of the world that they go more off the beaten track, sometimes difficult to get those MAN engine serviced, but for this type of boat that will generally stay around the same area, wouldn’t really go to far unlike the trawl or the long range cruisers styles, that’s not too much of an issue here. A pretty good asking price especially with it being a 2008 model and it’s listed at the moment for $1,495,000.

Lady Trilli

Our third and last boat for today, this is a Pershing, Lady Trilli. I haven’t reviewed too many Pershing’s before. They’re generally launched with either jet drives or Arneson drives. This one is Arneson drive. They don’t have a huge following here, so I tend to review boats that are bit more popular down here. I wanted to go through this one because they are building up in numbers here in South Florida.

This one is 65 ‘ long, almost 16.5’ in beam. The speed of this because of those Arneson drives are quite amazing, 40 knots cruising speed and 47 knots maximum speed. That’s 54 miles per hour on a boat that’s almost 66’ long, that’s incredible. This one is in France. The reason I chose this was because the photographs are very good in this brochure and a lot of them are built very similar. You can get a really good idea on this brochure of what to expect out of these Pershings.

This was launched in 2009. It has the same setup, the same layout on the interior. The three guest state rooms and one crew as worthwhile mentioning that all of the three today, all have full beam master cabins and a pretty large VIP up forward. This has the MAN engines again, the same as the Azimut did. The asking price for this, it’s in Euros but we did a quick conversion. As of this week the conversion comes to $1,870,000. That’s the three that we have today. As mentioned, this is the brief round-up.

The full reviews are in the links which will change depending whether you’re watching this on Youtube or by the website. I’ll encourage you to go to the website because all of the good stuff is on there. Click on those links and get the yacht pack for this which is available by the website and that will give all the good stuff inside that yacht pack. If you want to join us for one of our daily yacht trawls once I get back in a week or so, then by the website. It’s pretty popular now because we’re into the summer. People are looking around boats so that they can buy them in preparing for the next season down here which will start around the end of October, beginning of November times. Take care, that’s it for today. Click on the links to the full length reviews and I’ll see you inside…
